I have trained in Arts Therapies. I am interested in the cross over between Art and Therapy and Art and Education. I have developed my own teaching toolkit on the following topics: An Introduction to African Geography; Ghanian Languages; Cultural Traditions, From Bean To Bar' – learning about Fair Trade principals through the Ghanian cocoa industry; and traditional Ghanaian folklore, including Anansi The Spider. I conduct practical workshops on traditional craft techniques: traditional bead making, Adrinka symbol printing and Kente weaving, mask making. My own personal practice as an artist includes drawing and painting alongside craft based techniques. I believe in the power of art as a process for learning and exploration, and thus my own practice is broad and varied, learning new skills and adapting techniques as I go. I believe in promoting the individual's own capacity to his/her maximum, especially through the various art forms, so as to give and achieve the best in life. I believe that everyone has the capacity to expand and develop their own creativity, and that creative expression is the preserve and right of everyone, and not just of those who call themselves artists.
