Statement
Using nature as my focus and inspiration, I address core curriculum subjects in a creative and person centred way. Alongside my students, I design and create subject specific woven and living sculptures from willow, felted sculptures and pictures, and landscapes and even buildings. Using my background as an environmental scientist, and my experience of living in an eco-village, I bring an holistic approach to any learning topic. Experience of working with autistic and learning disabled children, and those from deprived backgrounds, has given me an empathy and understanding of human nature, and my early years training ensures I can communicate simply and clearly as needed. Without explanation any person can learn that they are effortlessly creative simply by engaging them in a creative activity. I use concurrent levels of activity to ensure noone feels pressure or is left out.
