Criw Celf Oriel Davies is recruiting young artists aged 12 – 18 to participate in an exciting project whose purpose is to nurture young talent in the Visual Arts. Application forms are now available and the closing date is 20th July 2018 – the last day of term in Powys.
In September, Criw Celf Oriel Davies will be in its 7th year, and will involve a wide range of arts opportunities including practical workshops with professional artists, visits to exhibitions and universities, and events to inform participants about careers in the creative industries. Events take place on Saturdays and in school holidays between September and March 2019, avoiding key revision and exam periods.
In the next few weeks, Art Teachers at secondary schools in North Powys will distribute Criw Celf application forms to more able and talented Arts pupils from years 8 to 12; in addition, any young people in North Powys aged 12-18 who have a passion for Art and would like to apply for a place on the project are welcome to do so. Criw Celf Oriel Davies encourages applications from young people from all backgrounds and is an equal opportunities project. Information and application forms are available on the Oriel Davies website or by contacting Oriel Davies.
Criw Celf participants will be charged a one-off fee of £35 which includes all activities, materials and visits. Free places are available to successful applicants who are eligible for free school meals. Parents, guardians and potential applicants are encouraged to contact Bethan Page the Criw Celf Oriel Davies Co-ordinator, to find out more about the project before making an application.
