Creating the best results – Design Development Explained

This course is suitable for those teaching secondary art subjects including art, textiles and photography etc.

Improve your pupils’ GSCE exam results with illustrator and designer Lee Phillips.

This is what Lee says about the course:

Based on shortcomings identified in the 2018 examiners report, this workshop will focus on developing a more rigorous design process at CP and ESA as well as addressing the renewed emphasis on drawing and annotation in the new GCSE specification.

Through this practical workshop we will be familiarising ourselves with the stages of a thorough design development by working through a randomly selected brief. We will develop an outcome, through a condensed process, whilst ensuring we equally consider all AO’s. It will reflect all the processes we ask our pupils to follow.

The new specifications from the WJEC have been designed to equip our students for the next stage in their education and ultimately a career in the creative arts. I am a freelance illustrator and branding designer and I know the importance of the design development phase of completing any creative brief.
